Once again we have a tremendous opportunity coming up right around the corner that we are going to take advantage of. We have the honor of escorting Luke AFB Command, Airmen and pilots down the Fiesta Bowl Parade route as we carry a gigantic helium filled American flag. This is one of the most visibly supportive, awe inspiring and patriotic things we have the privilege to do. And don’t forget, this is one of our top three events with 25 bullet points being awarded for participation! The Fiesta Bowl Parade is Saturday, December 28 from 9A-3P.
If you can go, please register here so that we get a proper head count. For those of you attending please arrive by 9:30 AM so the shuttle buses can take you to the balloon handling staging area – look for the Giant American flag and your fellow BBS members! Parking will be on the west side of the VA Hospital off Indian School at 3rd St. From Indian School head North on 3rd St. There will be Blue Blazer who will greet you with a parking pass.
Dress code is BBS Blazer with khaki pants for members and a navy blue sweater, jacket, etc, for everyone else. Don’t forget to wear comfortable walking shoes! For those of you handling the balloon you may want to bring a pair of gloves. If you are bringing a spouse or child that is perfectly fine, however be sure to read the needed indemnification form here for those participants under age 18. Please download, print, fill out, sign scan and PDF that back to me at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Expect to be at the parade until around 3PM. For those that want to participate, we will gather after the parade at The Original Hamburger Works to catch up and refill on the calories we burned walking the parade route. More details will follow. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you there!
